Music streaming service Tidal rolled out its long-awaited Siri integration Wednesday. Subscribers can ask Apple’s voice assistant to play songs, playlists, albums and more on the platform.
That’s great if you play music on an iPhone, iPad or Mac. But the Siri integration with Tidal doesn’t extend to HomePod or HomePod mini, unfortunately.
Tidal music streaming integrates with Siri (but not if you have a HomePod)
For those unaware of Tidal, the company calls itself “the first global music streaming service with high fidelity sound, hi-def video quality, along with expertly curated playlists and original content.”
As the streaming service put it in a tweet, “TIDAL meets Siri.” But few details are available about the integration, other than some users had complained about the lack of it. And the service still lack HomePod and HomePod mini integration.
In recent months, Tidal also integrated a feature for Apple Watch users when it brought offline playback to the wearable.

Aside from Apple Music, the only music streamers with true HomePod integration are Deezer and Pandora. Notably, both Spotify and Tidal still lack integration with Apple’s speakers.
But since Apple released iOS 14.5 in 2021, you can use a default music streaming service to play your favorite songs.
Now, with Tidal’s Siri integration, it’s even easier to do. Just make sure you have iOS 14.5 or later on your iPhone or iPad. Then ask Siri to play something, choose a service (like Tidal) from the pop-up window and tap yes to allow Siri to access data from the app.
