BenQ is known for making quality displays and monitor lights, but it also makes projectors. Its latest offering, the BenQ X3000i, can handle blazing-fast gaming at a refresh rate up to 240Hz, but it comes at quite a price — about two grand.
BenQ X3000i projector: variable refresh rates and response times
First announced at CES 2022 in January, the BenQ X3000i now arrives for folks who like a big display. With it, you have a 1080p gaming experience at a 240Hz refresh rate and a 4ms response time. Or, you can opt to reduce it to 120Hz and an 8ms response time. Another option would be to set it to 4K and 60Hz with a 16ms response time.
The projectors features a strong 3000 lumens of brightness, a contrast ratio of 500,000:1 using Lightsrouce dimming and can cover up to 100% of the DCI-P3 wide color gamut, displaying up to 1.07 billion colors.
In addition, using BenQ HDR Pro and Dynamic Black technologies, it supports Game mode and HDR content. With dual HDMI ports with eARC support, it’s compatible with most consoles, like PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch.
Projects a 150-inch image at a distance of 12.5 feet
The BenQ X3000i comes with a 2D keystone to align it. You can adjust the throw distance of the X3000i with the 1.3X zoom feature. It enables screen sizes of 100-inches at a distance of 8.2 feet, 120-inches from 9.8 feet and 150 inches from 12.5 feet.
Connectivity options for the Android 10 OS-based device include 2x HDMI 2.0b ports, a USB-A 2.0 port, a 3.5mm audio jack, a SPDIF port, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 2.4/5G, AirPlay and Google Cast. It features two 5W treVolo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos.
