Earlier this month, Røde launched a new, single-set version of its popular Wireless Go II microphone with one transmitter rather than two, suiting it nicely to solo content creators.
Aimed at mobile journalists, vloggers and videographers, the Røde Wireless Go II Single is an ultra-compact, single-transmitter wireless microphone system offered at a lower price point than the original, two-transmitter set released last year.
Røde Wireless Go II Single
The Single offers internal recording for more than 40 hours of audio. It includes a built-in, rechargeable lithium-ion battery with up to seven hours of life. The microphone is compatible with a range of devices, including cameras, smartphones and computers. You can connect it using a 3.5mm TRS analog output, USB-C or iOS digital output.
The system allows you to record clear audio over distances, with a functional range of 200 meters. And it’s optimized to work well in areas with lots of radio transmissions.
As with the first Wireless Go II package, the single set has a dual-channel receiver. That allows you to add another transmitter later if necessary.
A more affordable option
At the same time, leaving out the second transmitter but making it an option makes the new Wireless Go II set more affordable for those who don’t need a second transmitter right now. It could be an affordable option for someone who records just themselves or another individual speaking.
Røde first released the Go II as an upgrade to the original Røde Wireless Go in 2021. The Go II quickly became a go-to wireless microphone system for content creators needing an affordable system that’s easy to set up and use.
The Røde Wireless Go II Single available from a variety of retailers for $199.
