The U.S. National Park Service turns 107 on Friday. And, as usual, Apple is running its donation campaign to the National Parks Foundation to celebrate.
Each purchase made with Apple Pay in the Apple Store and on Apple sites through Sunday, August 27, donates $10 to the National Parks Foundation.
Donations from Apple purchases help celebrate national parks’ birthday through August 27
The National Park Service came into being on August 25, 1916. So the parks system is about to turn 107. And just like every year at this time, you can celebrate by giving through your Apple purchases.
A note atop Apple’s website says:
“We’re donating $10 to the National Park Foundation for every purchase made at Apple using Apple Pay through 8/27. Shop now.”
So whenever you use Apple Pay to make a purchase in an Apple Store, on apple.com or in the Apple Store app, the company will donate $10 to the National Park Foundation.
Cupertino noted that donations are limited to a maximum of $1 million.
August 26 Activity Challenge
In addition to the donations, Apple will run an Activity Challenge for Apple Watch users on Saturday. Participants can collect animated stickers to share in Messages and elsewhere.
“Let’s get out and celebrate national parks everywhere,” Apple said. “On August 26, earn this award by recording a workout of 20 minutes or more with any app that adds workouts to Health.”
