When you start to worry the air in your home could make you sick, an air purifier can help. And they’re getting smarter (but hopefully not “rise of the machines” smart a la Terminator).

The nara Pro, which the company bills as “the versatile air purifier robot,” runs a two-stage system via artificial intelligence that works with Siri and HomeKit, as well as other smart-home systems.

And you can get a good deal on it on the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform.

The nara Pro claims to clean 99.98% of particles from smoke and other pollution through a shield/filter as well as a UV-C air cleaner that kills tiny organisms with ultraviolet light, “just like the sun,” according to the Indiegogo page.

The 3-Layer Nano Shield with Pro Filter gets rid of volatile organic compounds (VOC), smog, pollen, chemicals, pet dander and odors, the company said.

“We have picked the medical-grade H13 level HEPA filter for nara Pro,” the company said. “Being highly efficient, maintenance-free and affordable, it will keep your room free of unhealthy air for months.”

And the little robot has a sleek look to it. It works wirelessly, so you can place it anywhere. It employs a 360-degree filtration system.

The bot’s sensors read changes in air quality so it can show data and improve its performance. Its display shows numbers and “eyes” that display its satisfaction with the air quality, as in good, fair or poor (think of Eve, the surprisingly expressive robot the title character had a thing for in Pixar’s Wall-E).

In addition to HomeKit, the bot works with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and the nara Pro app.

You can preorder nara Pro on Indiegogo for various pledge levels, like VIP Special ($119, versus the $249 list price). It comes with the device, an air filter, a power adapter and a user manual. Shipping is expected in June.
