Back in May, Cult of Mac wrote about wait times for Studio Display shipments stretching into August. But now, four months after Cupertino rolled out the $1,600 monitor, shipping-time estimates are dropping fast in many countries, including the U.S.
Studio Display shipping estimates now down to 1 to 2 weeks
Delivery estimates for Apple’s Studio Display stood at 8 to 10 weeks in May, and at 6 to 8 weeks in June. Now Apple Store marks a much speedier 1- to 2-week delivery estimate for new orders in the U.S.
That estimate applies to the $1,599 configuration of the Studio Display featuring standard glass and a tilt-adjustable stand. Higher-spec configurations face longer, but improving, shipping timeframes.
Shipping estimates vary from country to country. In Canada, if you order a Studio Display Thursday, Apple can deliver it as soon as July 26. In the U.K., shoppers are seeing a 3 to 4 week wait, however.
Apple introduced the Studio Display along with the Mac Studio desktop computer in March. The standalone Studio Display is as a lower-priced alternative to Apple’s Pro Display XDR, which $5,000 or more.
Studio Display features a 27-inch screen with 5K resolution, a 12-megapixel Ultra Wide camera with Center Stage, a six-speaker sound system with Spatial Audio and connectivity via one Thunderbolt 3 port and three USB-C ports. Optional upgrades include nano-texture glass and a height-adjustable stand.
