Apple CEO Tim Cook place fourth on a list ranking CEOs by popularity according to employees. Blind Workplace Insights released it this week.
Tech, e-commerce and finance leaders dominated the high end of the Blind professional social network’s list. But tech firms were no stranger to the low end, either.
Blind 2023 CEO approval rating index
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang came out on top of Blind’s index of 103 CEOs by popularity, with 96% approval. Cook, who just cashed in $41 million in Apple stock, nabbed fourth place with 83% approval (actually tied with Ali Ghodsi of Databricks).
Blind compiled the index from a survey on its platform of 13,171 professionals in the United States in August. Across the whole index of 103 CEOs, the average approval rating sat at 32%, lower than most unpopular presidents of the United States.
And Blind asked them its question the same way Gallup does when it asks voters about presidents: “Do you approve or disapprove of the way your CEO is handling their job?” Five possible answers ranged from “strongly approve” to “strongly disapprove,” with “no opinion” added as an option.
Blind cited positive stock performance and a sense of job security as a strong approval indicators and job cuts as a strong disapproval indicator.
