Those wanting a budget iPhone SE with a 5.7-inch edge-to-edge display will get their wish in 2023, according to a reliable tipster.
But before then, expect a model in this same series with a smaller screen and 5G.
Apple preps iPhone SE+ 5G and SE 3
Display expert Ross Young said Monday via Twitter that the next handset in Apple’s low-cost series will be called the iPhone SE+ 5G. This is expected to use the same design as the current version, including the same 4.7-inch display. The big change will be the addition of 5G high-speed cellular-wireless networking… as the name will supposedly reflect.
This model is expected in spring 2022. It could be as soon as March or April — the iPhone SE 2 launched April 15, 2020.
The followup will be dubbed the iPhone SE 3, according to Young’s tweet. It will have a 5.7-inch screen, and the tipster indicated it will resemble the render of a 5.7-inch iPhone SE that leaked last week.
But it won‘t be out until 2023. Still, that’s good news — the device might have been on hold until 2024.
Next SE model is rumored to be called SE+ 5G and will have a 4.7" LCD. Previously said the next SE model, SE3, would either have a 5.7" or a 6.1" display. It is now looking like it will be 5.7". May be launched in 2023 rather than 2024.
