Apple’s AirPods charging cases are sleek, protective — and relentlessly white. So if you’d like to add a layer of extra protection along with a better grip and a choice of colors, Totallee offers new cases for AirPods Pro (2nd generation) and AirPods 3.

Totallee Case for AirPods Pro (2nd generation)
News came out recently that Apple actually considered releasing its original AirPods with a choice of colored cases, rather than just white. But it pulled back on that decision before launch. And to this day, if you want Apple earbuds in a color other than white, you have to go for products from subsidiary Beats.
And if you skipped the free monogramming Apple offers on AirPods cases, like I did, nothing sets your white case apart.
But there is another option. You can slip your AirPods Pro 2 or AirPods 3 case inside another case. That gives your earbuds case a new look and protects the original case from scratches. Totallee released such a product on June 2 in three colors — beige, green and black. They sent me one of each for AirPods Pro 2.
Totallee is known for its slim, lightweight cases with no branding on them. And that’s the case here, too, so to speak.
A recycled plastic case with minimal packaging
Each Totallee case for AirPods Pro 2 comes in a simple white cardboard box holding the case pieces inside a black wrapper, plus an instruction card. Both the packaging and case are minimal and branding-free.
The 100% recycled plastic case comes in two pieces. You slip your AirPods Pro 2 case into the larger cavity and snap the top piece over the top, with the open bit facing the back where the hinge is on the earbuds case, so the top piece can swing open.
Until you go to snap the Totallee piece onto your AirPods Pro 2 case, you might wonder if something is missing. But it’s not. And once the case is snapped firmly into place, it’s really on there and it works just like the Apple case does by itself, with precise cutouts for USB-C, the lariat holder and more.
‘Premium finish’ for grip and other benefits

Totallee touts the case’s “premium finish for added grip.” It’s true, too — the case has tackier surface feeling that offers a bit better grip than Apple’s slick case. And if you don’t drop it, you’re less likely to break it or lose it down a sewer, right?
The cases allow full functionality with precise cutouts and won’t impede wireless charging. I set my AirPods Pro 2 on a Qi charging pad and it worked normally through the case.

Given that Totallee has marked the price down by $7, the case is a pretty good value. You can find cheaper hard-plastic cases to put your AirPods Pro 2 charging case in, but I can’t vouch for those. Also, some folks might find the colors too muted; no neon hues here.
