Delta, the all-in-one retro game emulator for iPhone, will soon be available on the iPad. Riley Testut, the game emulator’s developer, confirmed its imminent launch on the App Store.
Apple recently changed the App Store guidelines, opening the platform to retro game emulators.
Delta’s iPad release is close
Since Apple’s policy change, Delta has been among the most popular classic game emulators to hit the store. This emulator, GBA4iOS’s spiritual successor, has been available for a long time, but it required sideloading through the AltStore. Once Apple changed its stance, it was only a matter of days before Riley Tesut listed the app on the App Store.
Several other game emulators preceded Delta on the App Store but were eventually removed for various reasons.
In a post on Threads, Riley Tesut teased Delta’s iPad release. He revealed that the version is almost ready for debut, with only some last-minute bugs and controller skins-related work pending.

In a reply to the post, Riley also confirms that he wants to add device-to-device multiplayer to Delta. However, this will take some time, as he is focusing on the iPad’s release along with some other usability improvements for the short term.
iPad support should come to Delta with the next major release, v1.6. If you downloaded Delta through AltStore in the EU and are its Patron subscriber, you can download the emulator’s iPad version from there.
You must source your own game ROMs
A bigger screen will make playing classic games through Delta much more enjoyable. So, if you are heavily into retro Nintendo games, Delta’s upcoming iPad release should make you happy. Do note that you must have access to the ROMs of the games you want to play. Delta is only an emulator and does not host the ROMs of retro games.
