Monument Valley 2+ made the jump onto Apple Arcade Friday. Gameplay involves “a journey through magical architecture, discovering illusionary pathways and delightful puzzles as you learn the secrets of the Sacred Geometry,” according to the developer, Ustwo Games.
The puzzle adventure is “an immersive, addictive experience,” according to the Cult of Mac review.
Monument Valley 2+ is a perspective-bending puzzler
This game plays with the laws of perspective, and always draws comparisons to the impossible landscapes of M.C. Escher.
Players control a protagonist as she walks through a set of puzzles with her daughter. Getting them to their destination requires correct manipulation of walkways and stairways, most of which sneer at the laws of perspective.
Monument Valley 2+ the version for Apple Arcade, not an upgrade of the 2017 version. But don’t miss the Cult of Mac review of the original from when it first debuted.
Get it now from Apple Arcade
Monument Valley 2+ by Ustwo Games is available now on Apple’s gaming service. There are versions for iPhone, and iPad. This is a touch-oriented game so there’s no Mac version and external game controllers are not supported.
It is, of course, a sequel to a truly classic puzzle game. And the original version is already part of Apple’s gaming service. Playing either can be enjoyed with a single $4.99-a-month subscription to Apple Arcade. And a family can share a subscription.
